Spay it Forward

By deciding today to Spay it Forward, you will become part of the biggest animal welfare movement Central Alabama has ever seen and serve as a crucial link in the chain of events required to reduce pet overpopulation in our area!

Shelby Humane Society now facilitates low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for all local pet owners, regardless of income. Further, our shelter currently has funding to provide 1,000 subsidized surgeries for the pets of Shelby County residents who prove financial need.

With our new low-cost surgery offerings, we can change the climate of animal welfare and prevent thousands of unwanted litters born in our area each year.  Spreading the word on the importance of spay/neuter to each local pet owner is a daunting task. But, if every area animal lover makes a small effort to educate friends and neighbors, we will see huge results!

It could not be easier to Spay it Forward! Below, you’ll find two versions of a business card, one to share with pet owners who may consider spay and neuter, and the other for individuals who may support our efforts financially.  Each $35 donated to our spay/neuter program will provide an individual in need access to surgery for his or her pet. For those with altered pets, a monetary gift allows them to share the benefits of spay/neuter with someone who otherwise could not afford it.

By putting low-cost spay/neuter information directly into the hands of those who need it, we will see bigger results than any ad or billboard could ever provide! Please pass out your Spay it Forward cards freely and visit our website to order more when you run out.
