Purr-fect Reading Buddies: Kids Can Read to Cats This Summer at Shelby Humane!
Looking for a heartwarming (and furry!) activity for your kids this summer? Shelby Humane has a great opportunity!
Starting the last week of May and running through the end of July, we’re inviting young animal lovers to join us every Thursday morning for our special new program: Reading with Cats!
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m each Thursday, children kindergarten age and up can sign up for a 30-minute reading session with our adorable cats and kittens. It’s the purr-fect way to practice reading skills, build confidence, and spend time snuggling with some of the sweetest shelter residents around.

Whether your child is a budding bookworm, an animal enthusiast, or both, this is a unique opportunity to make new feline friends, help socialize our adoptable cats, and create lasting memories.
